We are living at the threshold of three earth-changing movements: urbanization, climate change and innovations in information and communications technologies.  Over the next 30 years 2 billion people will be added to the global population and most of this increase is expected to take place in urban areas of the developing world. This is a dramatic departure from the past and a window of opportunity to get serious about planning smarter, more inclusive, and greener cities. This blog is about my experiences helping cities, their governments and communities plan for this demographic shift.
